Needed Help Organizing Cluttered Closets on a Budget of $350 or less:
The client’s coat closet was cluttered and had become a catch all of miscellaneous items. She wanted the space to store her coats, handbags, scarfs, and travel bags. Budget for this was $60.
The client had a specialized hangar for holding multiple handbags, so we kept that idea and added a $20 two drawer bin for storage of scarves and miscellaneous items. Relocated the shoes to the bedroom clothes closet and donated some unused items that were no longer needed. We had space to spare and within budget!
The client’s kitchen pantry was cluttered with water bottles, small appliances, beverages, and food items. Her goal was to organize the food and beverages in such a way that there was enough space to allow for a work area for essential oil making. The budget for this space was $100.
We purchased two large plastic storage bins that would fit on bottom back shelf for storing less used bulky items for about $15. This left the other side of the bottom shelf for the extra water bottles. We purchased four plastic coated wire shelf spacers for canned goods and a corner one for small boxed items for under $30. We used inexpensive plastic bins for storing plastic wrap, baggies, and baking items ($15). The small appliances were stored on the top shelf. All beverages were arranged together by category. There was plenty of room now to organize a work space for the essential oil supplies!
The client’s bedroom closet was cluttered with extra pillows and various items that left no room for shoes. Her clothes were hung in no order and made it difficult to see what she wanted. The budget for this space was $125.
The largest portion of the budget was spent here to purchase a nice 4 bin storage shelf for $40 and colorful bins for $24. Three other bins were added up top for $20. These bins were used to store away shoes and miscellaneous items. The bulky pillows were put in space saver bags to slide under the bed for $10. The clothes were hung in the closet by style and color. The result was a neat and organized space that makes it easy to find what you want to wear!
The client’s linen closet was cluttered and being utilized for storing toiletries, as well as, linens. The client had the toiletries in a plastic over the door shoe bag, which added to the chaos. Her goal was to organize this closet for linens and new towels and be able to see her toiletries in order to easily find what she needed.
The only item we purchased for this space was a $10 clear storage bin with three drawers for the smaller toiletries. The linens were properly folded and organized by type. We removed the shoe bag and used the new storage bin to arrange a shelf for personal items. After it was all reorganized, there was a free shelf to store plenty of new towels!
The labor for this four closet project was $165, so the client was right on budget for $350!
